Barnend Dierson papers, 1802

Letters, 24 and 27 Nov. 1802, consisting of his petition to the legislature requesting naturalization, listing his wife and children, explaining that he had acquired property and later learned that "he was disqualified by the Laws of this State, to convey or otherwise dispose of any of the landed Estate," and a favorable recommendation from Langdon Cheves' committee. Petition includes testimony of John Christopher Faber, "minister of the German Church," detailing the marriage of Dierson to Elizabeth Krebs and listing names of their three children.

Langdon Cheves (September 17, 1776 – June 26, 1857) was an American politician, lawyer and businessman from South Carolina. He was a U. S. Representative from 1810 to 1815, served as Speaker of the House in 1814–1815, and was president of the Second Bank of the United States from 1819 to 1822.
